Harmon & Associates history
Founded in 2009 by James and Loren, Harmon Accounting emerged in Columbiana, Alabama, with a vision to provide unparalleled accounting services. Despite commencing without an established client base, James swiftly garnered acclaim for his expertise, integrity, and unwavering dedication to client prosperity. Through sheer determination and his adept skill set, alongside Loren’s business acumen, the couple transformed their venture into a thriving establishment.
In 2010, a pivotal partnership unfolded as James joined forces with Harry C. Harrison, a seasoned CPA who had built his firm from the ground up since 1983. Recognizing James as a fitting successor to uphold his legacy, Harry seamlessly integrated his practice into Harmon Accounting in 2015. Similarly, in 2014, James initiated discussions with Byron Tanner, another esteemed CPA with a thriving practice in Hoover. Byron’s careful selection process culminated in the integration of his firm into Harmon Accounting in 2019, further solidifying its reputation as a reputable accounting entity.
A significant milestone in the firm’s trajectory unfolded in 2019 when James and Loren rebranded as Harmon and Associates, signifying their commitment to continued growth and excellence. This transition coincided with the acquisition of a spacious 6,000-square-foot office building in Pelham, facilitating the consolidation of their Alabaster and Hoover offices under one roof. This strategic move optimized operational efficiency, streamlined procedures, and elevated client experience through enhanced facilities and services.
In 2022, the firm welcomed Randy C. Allinder, a distinguished CPA based in Sumiton, marking a new chapter in its expansion journey. The addition of an outpost location in Sumiton further bolstered Harmon & Associates’ presence and service offerings, underscoring its commitment to serving clients across the region with integrity and professionalism.
